About me…
My name is Steven and I’m a Falkirk based photographer.
I live with my wife, two kids and my two Labradors.
I aim to provide a platform in which I can build tailored packages for clients, from sole traders, long-established businesses with a large colleague base, which will exhibit and market their goods and/or company. A completed package will then be handed over for clients to use on their website, social media accounts
Like most I guess, my love of photography started with landscapes and living in Scotland we’re privileged to, dare I say, an abundance of breathtaking landscapes and about 15 years ago I bought my first digital compact camera, a Sony Cybershot P100.
My skills have been self taught over the years with a lot of success and twice as many failures. But failures are what makes us grow and learn, from an individual level right up to multi national blue chip companies. With the thanks to modern technology and the way we now share information, all of my learning has come from online sources.
Some time in 2016 I bought my first proper DSLR and during my recovery period post op is when I really started taking photography serious, taking the ultimate plunge and switching to manual mode and trying not to look back.
From then on where ever I went usually so did my camera and so my knowledge and technique began to grow.

Up till a few years ago I was a keen mountain biker and loved the freedom it gave you, being able to get away from it all and accessing places that cars weren’t allowed or able to go. Usually, no cars meant no people.
In 2017, while on a camping trip with my friends to Fort William, the Mecca for mountain biking in Scotland, if not the UK, I had somewhat of an accident that required surgery.
We hadn’t long arrived at Fort William and we were eager to get out on the bikes. We pitched tents and headed out to Aonach Mor. Craig, Adam and I ran the ‘blue’ run and when we got back to the car confidence was high, probably more so on my part. We decided to head to the Downhill World Cup track.
before…
This was the peak of my confidence. Soon to come crashing down, literally. About 40ft from the end of the track I decided to have a argument with the terrain but sadly terrain won.
Adam and I…
What followed was a bone graft from my pelvis to rebuild part of my left clavicle (collar bone) and a plate to hold it all in place, and major scaring of my left Achilles area, luckily the tendon just stayed in tact.
post op….
“Bones heal, pain is temporary and chicks dig scars.”
My love of the outdoors hasn’t been lost with not being able to get out on my bike and with the aid of camera I’ve found different appreciation for the outdoors and what it has to offer.
I am now at the next chapter of my photography journey and trying to turn what has become more than a hobby into a career.
Steven.
